Before you start

Open the SERAVERRA report's Local & competitors tab. The Keep your business info consistent card shows exactly what the client's website says for the business name, address, and phone — note it. That's the spelling you're going to copy onto Yelp — pick one version and use it everywhere.

Tip

Copy the text straight from the client's website rather than retyping it. Most mismatches are tiny: "St" vs "Street", a missing suite number, or a different phone format.

Update the listing

  1. Open Yelp for Business

Go to biz.yelp.com and sign in with an account that manages the client's business — ask the client for access if you don't have it. If the listing hasn't been claimed yet, the client searches for the business and clicks "Claim this business" first — Yelp verifies the owner by phone or email before anything can be edited.

  2. Open Business Information

In the left menu, go to Business Information. This is where the business's public name, address, and phone live.

  3. Edit the business name

Type it exactly as it appears on the client's website — same spelling, same punctuation, no extra keywords or location tags.

  4. Edit the address

Match the street address, suite or unit number, city, state, and ZIP to the website character for character. Check the map pin sits on the right building.

  5. Edit the phone number

Use the same phone number — in the same format — as the website. If the site shows (412) 555-0134, don't enter 412-555-0134 on Yelp.

  6. Save and wait for review

Click Save. Yelp reviews most business-information edits before they go live — this usually takes a day or two. You'll get an email when they're published.

After the changes go live

Run a new SERAVERRA scan (the Rescan icon on the report). The business info check reads the website fresh each time — once Yelp matches, the mismatch flag clears.

Don't stop at Yelp

Repeat the same copy-paste on the client's Google Business Profile and Facebook page. AI assistants check all of them, and one holdout keeps the mismatch alive.
