Why this matters
Share the client's link right now in a text to yourself. If the preview shows a generic title, no description, or the wrong image, that's what customers — and AI — see instead of the client's pitch. Setting these means every share of the site carries the business name and its best one-line summary.
Use the same title as the page title (business name — what the client does in their city) and the same text as the page description. If those are already written, this is just pasting them into one more field.
Fix it in the site editor
Pick the client's platform. If you don't have a login for the client's site, ask the client for editor access first.
Wix
- Open social share settings
In the Wix editor, click Pages (left sidebar), click the three dots next to the homepage, then SEO Basics, then the Social Share tab.
- Fill in the fields
Type the Social share title (same as the page title) and Social share description (same as the page description). Upload a photo of the business or storefront as the share image.
- Publish
Click Publish in the top-right.
Squarespace
- Open page SEO settings
In the Pages panel, click the gear icon next to the homepage, then the SEO tab. The SEO Title and SEO Description set here double as the social share text.
- Set the share image
Still in the SEO tab, upload a Social Image — a photo of the business or storefront.
- Save
Click Save in the top-left.
WordPress
- Open the page
Go to Pages → All Pages, hover the homepage, click Edit.
- Find the SEO box
Scroll to the Yoast SEO (or Rank Math) box, click Edit snippet, then switch to the Social tab.
- Fill in the fields
Type the Facebook title and Facebook description (paste the page title and description), and upload a share image.
- Update
Click Update in the top-right.
Shopify
- Open preferences
Go to Online Store → Preferences.
- Set the share image and text
Under Social sharing image, upload a photo of the business. The Homepage title and Homepage meta description above it are used as the share title and description.
- Save
Click Save in the top-right.
After publishing
Run a new SERAVERRA scan of the site. The metadata check reads the page's share tags fresh each time — once they're there, the flag clears.
